I've been taking this class at church and part of the assignment is to know your testimony. In the handout of instructions, your testimony cannot be about your age, where you were, or who was preaching or who lead you to the Lord. It needs to be about what you were, what you found, where that's taken you and who He is to you now. That was kind of a challenge! I have always included in my testimony my age, where I was, and the scenario when I was saved. So it took a little prayer and quiet time for the Lord to help me see what the truth was about my testimony. I was scared. I was always scared. I lived scared that I would be alone. I was scared to talk to people. I was scared of evil things. I was scared to do anything outside my (what I thought was) my protected zone. When I accepted Jesus, I found a friend that would never leave me alone. I didn't have to be afraid anymore because "greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world." When I found that verse in the Bible, I found a golden nugget that has motivated me all the rest of my days. If you met me today, you wouldn't think I was scared of anything. That's only because what your're seeing in me is Jesus. He is the one that makes it possible for me to not be afraid. He is the best friend I've ever had!

Have a blessed day with the Lord! Peggy

Micah 6:8 No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

There is a new "thing" going around. It's a you-tube video of a computer generated voice saying the same word over and over. As a listener, you will hear either Laurel or Yanny. It is the craziest thing! Most of my friends hear Yanny. I hear Laurel. After taking this little experiment, I immediately could see how the same scenario could apply to our Christian walk. What voice do you hear? We have to be tuned in to hear God's voice in a very loud, distracting world or we may hear the wrong voice. To stay tuned in means spending time reading the Bible, praying, and fellowship with like-minded believers. Those are not my instructions, those are God's instructions...from His Word. We won't know what is wrong if we don't read what He tells us is right. It's really not that hard. It just takes a little commitment.

Have a blessed day with the Lord! Peggy

James 3:17-18 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.

A Thought for Friday: Posted 5/18/2018 3:30:25 PM

For the last few weeks we've been doing the annual "spring cleaning" of the house. For us, this includes cleaning up and cleaning out. Dust is clinging to the patio furniture, closets need purged of "what we never wore", windows need some windex, etc. It feels so good once the task is complete, but boy do I drag my feet getting started. Then there's that whole thing about how these tasks are "never REALLY done". For example, you finish the dusting and sit down to relax and there's some new dust just collected on the TV. Or maybe you're like me and think "the laundry's finished!" only to see that each basket has already accumulated several new items. Lol But, you still have to do these things because if you don't keep up with the maintenance, things can't get gross really fast! As I continued my necessary spring cleaning, God reminded me that cleaning my heart is also a constant process. I can't get relaxed about the dust and clutter in my life or it will take root and grow things I don't want. and yet, it's so easy to sit back and relax thinking that things are "going along just fine" and then discover that a subtle habit or thought process has been "dusting" your heart for some time and needs cleaned out! The Bible tells us that God is ready, willing, and more than able to help us purge all that unwanted junk. He's just waiting on us. Our part is to stop dragging our feet and get to it: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9 So as you're doing your spring cleaning, ask the Lord to reveal what's in your heart that needs to be cleaned out. A good, healthy Spiritual "spring cleaning" has much greater results than the house one! You'll experience joy and freedom like never before! Cleaning out my heart, Kelly "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." Psalm 51:10
